They selectively highlight real or perceived injustices to evoke compassion, then channel that empathy into hatred of the "oppressor" group or system (America, capitalism, "whiteness," Israel, police, merit, etc.). Empathy becomes a tool not for healing or understanding, but for mobilization toward radical ends — including tolerance for violence framed as "resistance." This psychological manipulation turns good intentions into support for policies and rhetoric that destroy the very institutions that protect the vulnerable. This simplistic narrative reduces complex human societies to cartoon villains and victims. It erases nuance, individual agency, historical progress, and the achievements of liberal democratic capitalism. In practice, it excuses terrorism ("resistance"), riots, or authoritarianism from the "oppressed" side while demonizing any defense or success from the "oppressor" side. It fosters grievance, resentment, and zero-sum tribal conflict instead of shared prosperity or E Pluribus Unum. America — the most successful multi-ethnic experiment in history — becomes irredeemable evil under this lens.
